Built from the slab up. Ground, repaired and coated to a standard that lasts.

Est. 2018 Melbourne Polyurethane Epoxy
Philosophy

How we work

The coating is the easy part. What decides whether a floor lasts is everything that happens before it is poured.

Underfoot Floors was founded by Josh Dewit on one rule: preparation decides the result. Diamond grinding, crack repair and moisture testing are the parts nobody photographs, and the parts most operators cut short. Not here.

The operation scales to the job. One tradesman on your garage. A proven crew on your commercial fit-out. The same hands overseeing both, and a limited number of jobs running at any one time so none of them get half the attention.

Featured projects

The work. Before and after.

Every job below is shown exactly as it happened. Nothing staged, nothing borrowed. Photographed on site by us.

Polyurethane  —  Residential

After

Stained, cracked concrete in full sun. Ground back, repaired and coated in a single colour polyurethane chosen for one reason: it will not yellow out there.

Substrate repair  —  Commercial

After

Failed tiles lifted, substrate rebuilt, and a seamless coating laid with no grout lines left to trap anything. Crew job, delivered around the venue’s trading hours.

Residential garage

Epoxy flake  —  Residential

After

Full diamond grind, then a broadcast flake epoxy system. A covered space where epoxy is the honest choice, and the cheaper one.

Systems

Two systems. The right one for the job.

We run both systems and will tell you straight which one the floor needs. That call comes down to sunlight, traffic and budget. Nothing else.

Polyurethane

System 01 — UV stable

The premium coat, and the only one we will put outdoors. Polyurethane is UV stable, so it will not yellow or chalk in sunlight, and it stays slightly flexible once cured, moving with the slab instead of fighting it.

For alfresco areas, kitchens, living spaces, offices and any commercial floor that needs to look sharp for years, it is what we recommend. Matte through to full gloss, and repairable in place.

UV stable
Yes. Will not yellow outdoors
Character
Flexible. Moves with the slab
Finish
Matte, satin or gloss
Best for
Alfresco, kitchens, living areas, commercial

Epoxy

System 02 — Covered areas

The workhorse. Epoxy bonds hard to concrete and takes punishment: hot tyres, dropped tools, spilled solvents. Under cover, where UV never reaches it, it is the right call and the cheaper one.

Solid colours or broadcast flake. Outdoors it yellows, which is why serious operators topcoat it with polyurethane or keep it inside. We keep it inside.

UV stable
No. Covered areas only
Character
Rigid. Very high hardness
Finish
Solid colour or broadcast flake
Best for
Garages, workshops, warehouses, showrooms

One tradesman for the garage. A crew for the fit-out. The same standard on both.
